Cavaliers’ Injury Woes Continue: Delonte West Suffers Broken Finger

There's never an opportune time for a player to get injured, particularly one as important to Cleveland's success as Delonte West, but now would be the absolute worst time for West to get hurt because starting point guard Mo Williams is already out 4-6 weeks with a shoulder injury.

Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, it appears West is also going to be out for some time. The Associated Press is reporting that West broke his finger in yesterday's win and will be out for Saturday's game against Oklahoma City and surely longer.

The team said West will miss Saturday’s game against Oklahoma City, but does not know how long he will be sidelined. Doctors need a few days for the swelling to go down before they can complete their evaluation.

West fractured his finger while scrambling after a loose ball in the fourth quarter of Cleveland’s 93-87 win, the Cavs’ second over the defending NBA champions in less than a month.

Without West and Williams, little-used Daniel Gibson is likely to start at point guard until they recover.
