Relish Brett Favre’s Gamebreaking Interception, Again And Again (And Again)

Via SI’s Hot Clicks, a real treat we’ve been listening to all afternoon: Minnesota’s radio guys, Paul Allen and Pete Bercich, witnessing Brett Favre’s final interception in the NFC Championship game. It’s available in mp3 format right here, and it’s a thing of beauty:

↵↵“Why do you even ponder passing? I mean, you can take a knee! And try a 56-yard field goal! This is not Detroit, man, this is the Super Bowl!”

↵↵Favre’s hometown announcers, ladies and gents. And as with any good color guy, there’s some real emotion stirred up there at the end, but my favorite part might actually be the flat intonation that immediately follows the pick. They just sound ... resigned for a second at the beginning, like this is about how they expected it to go. (Knowing Favre’s lifetime record in Don’t Be A Hero, Man, maybe they did.)
