On Saturday afternoon, Michigan fell at Purdue by 10, a result that may very well have been different had junior guard Manny Harris been in the lineup.
Michigan’s Manny Harris Will Have To Redeem Himself After Suspension
↵Unfortunately for the Wolverines, head coach John Beilein had to suspend his best player for a key conference game because of something that happened (everyone get your Allen Iverson impersonation ready) during practice.
↵Harris sat after he committed an unspecified unsportsmanlike act during the closing moments of Friday’s practice. SB Nation’s Wolverine blog, Maize N Brew, says the episode is just another error for in a season full of miscues for the preseason all-Big Ten pick.
↵↵Harris may be Michigan’s best player, but he’s made more mental mistakes at critical times already this season than he made all of last year. The biggest by far, was the mistake that got him suspended. Leaders don’t make mistakes like that.
↵↵Since he apologized Monday, Michigan will have Harris back for their next game. Conveniently enough, that happens to be on Tuesday against fifth-ranked Michigan State in Ann Arbor.
↵It would be as good of a time as any for Harris to redeem himself after a major error in judgment.
