Mark Fistric Gets Thrown Out After Hitting Opponent In Head With Helmet

Fighting in hockey is relatively civil, as there are usually only two combatants and they only use their fists. In the case of the Eric Nystrom-Mark Fistric fight from Wednesday night though, a weapon of sorts comes into play. Watch the video to see what I mean:

↵Fistric was served with a match penalty for an intent to injure and will see an automatic suspension until the situation is dealt with. While Fistric most likely didn’t mean to hit Nystrom in the head with his helmet, he did nonetheless.

↵UPDATE: Mark Fistric was fined $2500 for the hit and will not face a suspension by the NHL, per Andrew’s Dallas Stars Page.
