Steven Jackson’s Ex-Girlfriend Alleges He Beat Her While Pregnant

A lot of people were talking about how tough life was for Steven Jackson for the end of the season. There was talk about how he needed to be airlifted out of the rubble that is the St. Louis Rams so the prime years of one of the NFL’s top backs isn’t wasted on a losing team. I imagine all of that sympathy will be wiped out of statements from Jackson’s ex-girlfriend, Supriya Harris, are true:↵↵In a statement to the police (PDF), as first reported by TMZ, Harris details an ugly incident while she was nine-months pregnant:↵
↵↵⇥In her complaint, Harris says, “Steven became enraged and pushed me to the ground, repeatedly.” ↵⇥↵⇥Harris also claims Jackson, “forcibly grabbed my arm and flung me against the door. I was crying and trying to protect my stomach from the blows, as I was 9 mos pregnant.”↵⇥
↵⇥↵⇥In the complaint, Harris claims Jackson “continued to shove me against the door until his nephew ... interceded and yelled, ‘uncle, she has a baby, stop.’”↵⇥
↵⇥↵⇥Harris claims she was “bleeding heavily” from wounds she received after she was smashed into a door handle.↵⇥
↵↵↵Harris went on to have the baby, but the two are no longer together. According Harris’ statement, she left when Jackson threatened violence again at a music festival in New Orleans. He said the following, according to Harris’ statement↵
↵↵⇥I don’t give a f--- about you, I’ll beat your a-- right here. I don’t give a f--- about the police and I don’t give a f--- about child support.↵↵It should be noted that Jackson is innocent until proven guilty and there’s nothing to indicate he’s actually been arrested or charged at this point.
↵
↵UPDATE: TMZ has posted an image that is allegedly the wound mentioned in the police report. Slightly graphic.
↵
↵Also, Jackson’s agent, agent Steve Caric, sent a response on behalf of his client to ProFootballTalk.com. It reads, “It’s disheartening that I have to address any alleged allegations 10↵months later, but I have read the accusations made by Supriya Harris, and↵they are untrue. The accusations are especially hurtful because those who↵truly know me know that those actions would be out of character for me. ↵Miss Harris is the mother of my son, a son that I love and that I↵willingly support emotionally and financially. I will address this matter↵thoroughly through the appropriate avenues, but not through the media.”
↵
↵Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo also released a statement Thursday on Jackson:
↵
↵“We are aware of the situation involving Steven Jackson. We are in↵the process of gathering information. We are always concerned with↵issues involving our players.”
↵
↵FRIDAY UPDATE: Harris has issued a statement to BlackSportsOnline.com:↵↵⇥“‘Domestic violence is never acceptable and I stood up, against all odds and spoke up. I would not wish this on my worst enemy, so you can say ‘I’m a woman scorned’ but I left Steven because if his abusive nature and the truth cannot be denied.”↵↵
