January 3, 2010 - Rosemont, IL (Sports Network) - Chris Wright led all scorers with 18 points as 13th-ranked Georgetown claimed a 67-50 win over DePaul in a Big East matchup.

Austin Freeman added 17 points and Jason Clark had 13 for Georgetown (11-1, 2-0 Big East), which opened league play on Thursday with a 66-59 triumph over St. John’s and has won three straight.

Mac Koshwal had a team-best 16 points to go along with eight rebounds for DePaul (7-7, 0-2), which suffered a 65-52 setback to conference foe Pittsburgh on Monday and have lost three in a row. Will Walker and Eric Wallace finished with nine and eight points, respectively.

Georgetown held a 22-11 lead near the midway point of the opening frame, but Jeremiah Kelly’s two free throws with just over three minutes left was able to get DePaul within 27-25.

The Hoyas then got a three-pointer from Wright in the final seconds as GU closed with an 8-0 run to take a 35-25 lead into the intermission.

DePaul was only able to get within eight early in the second half, before the Hoyas quickly gained a double-digit lead and cruised the rest of the way.

The Hoyas improved to 18-6 in the all-time series between the two teams...Georgetown moved their road record to 3-0 while DePaul fell to 5-2 at home.
