Kevin Durant Socks It to Arron Afflalo

⇥⇥⇥⇥⇥⇥

The Internet’s collective love for Kevin Durant is nearing a historic high, which may also be dangerous. How exactly is Durant supposed to top blocking Arron Afflalo’s lay-up with one shoe on last night? It came in a Thunder win that ended the Nuggets’ nine-game winning streak, and as an addition to the 30 points Durant scored.

In his third year, Durant is scoring more points per game than anyone not named Carmelo Anthony or LeBron James. He shoots a higher percentage from the field than any player averaging more than 25 points per game, except LeBron, but grabs more rebounds and shoots better from beyond the arc and the line than the King does. He has more games of 35 or more points (nine) than he does outings with less than 20 points (four). And Durant does it all with considerably younger talent in a rougher conference. He’s going to be one of the top five players in the NBA in a year or two -- if he isn’t already -- and he’s still competitive enough to try blocking a shot with one shoe on and lucky enough to not get hurt.

What, exactly, isn’t to love about Kevin Durant?
