Because the Pro Bowl absolutely sucks, here are some items to check out.
Evening NFL Draft links to click
Deadspin: Tim Tebow is working with Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman, a long-time NFL quarterbacks coach. The Alouettes also have the exclusive rights in the CFL to negotiate with Tebow, should he go that route. Oh, and this story features the usual lame-ass Deadspin “humor.”
Seattle Times: Pete Carroll was one of the most visible head coaches in Mobile last week. However, he’s keeping pretty mum on what his Seahawks may do.
Cleveland Plain Dealer: Terry Pluto, who for my money is the best sports writer in the nation, documents the Browns’ troubles in the second round. Don’t forget, they traded a second rounder to the Packers for Corey Williams. Yuck. The team also traded a pick to Dallas to pick Brady Quinn. Dallas traded it to Philadelphia, which general manager Tom Heckert used to take Kevin Kolb. Heckert is the new GM in Cleveland. I’m not saying anything, I’m just saying.
Orlando Sentinel: Taking a look at Florida State’s future draft stars, including quarterback Christian Ponder. That’s right folks, it’s never early enough to talk about the 2011 NFL Draft. At FSU it’s Ponder and guard Rodney Hudson for 2011.
Detroit Free Press: There is no way the Lions can fail in the 2010 draft. Whether they get Ndamukong Suh or, more likely, Gerald McCoy, the Lions will have a successful draft. And while we’re at it, enough with the “Lions won’t take McCoy because he’s not big enough” nonsense. While some schemes prefer size, all schemes prefer talent. That’s what McCoy is packed with.
After the jump, highlights from the Senior Bowl. By the way, I missed the last quarter and a half due to getting boozy with floozies. However, Brandon Graham. Wow. Scouting report tomorrow evening.
