Bruce Pearl: Our Favorite Unintentional Comedian

Count me as a fan of Bruce Pearl’s style. I’ve seen the polar opposite: the apathetic coach who just collects a paycheck. Given my choice, I’d rather have this guy, the guy who tosses on body paint and occasionally inappropriately hugs TV personalities in a moment of excitement on live TV. ↵↵In the wake of Tennessee losing four players to suspension -- including star Tyler Smith -- Pearl talked to the media about the challenge of facing Charlotte, who nearly knocked off a top 25 team (Georgia Tech) within the last week. His choice of words was unfortunate, but completely hilarious.↵

↵“We’ve got weapons. We still have got weapons. ... That’s terrible.”↵↵I credit Pearl for just saying what everyone was thinking. We love him for the total lack of a filter. Don’t ever change, Coach Pearl. Hopefully the team doesn’t still have actual weapons, or he’ll have no players pretty soon.↵
