On December 9th, in this space, I wrote that perhaps the nation shouldn’t write off the Ivy League as a two-bid conference this season.
In Defeat, Cornell Shows They Are Bubble Worthy
↵This evening in Lawrence, Cornell showed that they can give the country’s best a game, leading top-ranked Kansas by eight at one point in the second half, before falling, 71-66.
↵The Big Red led by eight at one point in the second, but when the game’s closing moments appeared on both ESPN2 and ESPNews, the fairy tale ended, almost on cue.
↵For those of you keeping track like me, heading into their Ancient Eight opener, Cornell now has wins at Alabama, St. John’s and UMass, decent losses to Syracuse and Seton Hall, and one close call with Number 1.
↵If Harvard should give the Big Red a battle for the Ivy crown, they’ll have a place on my bubble for sure.
