Throughout the third quarter, Texas’ offense looked like it was in prevent. More afraid of letting Garrett Gilbert commit any semblance of a mistake than trying to get back into the game. Finally, they loosened up and Gilbert hit Shipley to make t 24-13. With the ensuing onside kick recovery, the Longhorns looked ready to capitalize on their new-found momentum.Blame the slightly-off-the-mark passes from Gilbert or blame the refs for not calling a blatant PI but Texas punted the ball away and now Alabama has the chance to swing that momentum meter back to where it’s been the rest of the night.
