If you switched channels at halftime of Georgetown-UCONN, you could be forgiven. The Huskies were up 15 points at halftime, and the Georgetown Hoyas had looked painfully ordinary all afternoon. And... If you missed the second half, please allow me to summarize:
Austin Freeman Shines, Georgetown Wins
Austin Freeman. Err... austin freeman?
Austin Freeman!
Austin Freeman? Yup, AUSTIN FREEMAN.
Austin Freeman, Austin Freeman, Austin Freeman.
That was the second half in a nutshell.
The junior guard had 27 points in the second half, and single-handedly willed the Hoyas to a comeback. Freeman’s had an up-and-down career at Georgetown thus far, but today, he was a revelation. One of the most impressive performances of the college basketball season so far, and indeed, it was good enough to get Georgetown a crucial Big East win over rival UCONN. One more time?
