Week 5 Fantasy Football News: Philip Rivers Throws For 431 Yards And 2 TDs In Loss

QB Philip Rivers is making his fantasy owners quite happy today. He has been torching the Oakland secondary left and right, and somehow his team is losing, 28-27.

Rivers has 380 passing yards, with 2 TD and 1 INT.

Meachem currently has four catches for 72 yards in the game.

Gradkowski’s shoulder injury aggravation has officially knocked him out of the game.

QB Vince Young has already thrown for 95 yards and 2 TDs, and rushed for 17 yards also.

Young is presenting matchup problems with his athleticism for this 3-4 Cowboys’ defense, and his fantasy owners are reaping the benefits.

WR Brandon Lloyd was on the receiving end of yet another TD from QB Kyle Orton.

Lloyd has 5 receptions for 135 yards, with 2 TDs to boot.

QB Jake Delhomme wrote the book on sucking. He was lucky to be given some playing time today after QB Seneca Wallace was forced to leave the game.

In a loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Delhomme completed 13 of 23 passes, with two interceptions and 0 touchdowns, accounting for a QB rating of 30.5

QB Peyton Manning is one hell of a quarterback, but he, surprisingly, has no touchdowns today.

RB Mike Hart has the only one, an 11-yard TD run to put the Colts up 10.

Not too many quarterbacks can achieve a 6.3 QB rating. Then again, Todd Collins does not fall under the category of “most quarterbacks.”

His statline? 4 INTs, completing 6 of 16 passes for 32 yards, 0 TDs.

WR Anthony Armstrong has become one of QB Donovan McNabb’s favorite vertical targets. As such, the two connected for a 48-yard TD which put the Redskins back in the game.

Redskins offense now receives a much-needed spark.

Brandon Lloyd may not be the most consistent receiver, but he always seems to come up with a big catch in clutch moments.

Denver was in danger of finding themselves down 17-0 at the half in Baltimore, until QB Kyle Orton hit him for a 42-yard strike for a TD. Lloyd made a diving catch in the endzone.

Falcons halfback Michael Turner has disappointed so far this year, running for only 55 yards more than his backup, Jason Snelling.

That might be changing today, with Turner’s 55-yard rumble (every Turner run is a rumble) giving him 94 before the half.

James Jones has been the target of many Aaron Rodgers’ passes in the first half, and he has 4 catches for 65 yards thus far in the first half.

Packers are spreading the field and looking to exploit any favorable matchup that comes about.

Peyton Hillis fumbled on Cleveland’s opening drive against the Falcons after running for only seven yards on three carries. He sat out the Browns’ second drive, but totally redeemed himself by catching a wide open 19-yard touchdown.

Hillis has 41 total yards in the middle of the second.

Nicks has 7 catches for 97 yards and 2 TDs, and we’re not even at halftime yet.

Texans defense cannot get off the field and it’s killing them.

Ravens’ RB Ray Rice has had trouble finding the end zone all season, and his fantasy owners have not been happy.

However, he recently got off the schnide, and found the end zone for the first time this season on a 1-yard touchdown run.
