- With Alabama losing and LSU winning with its own peculiar methods against Florida, Team Speed Kills tries to make sense of the chaos in the SEC.

- Ohio State moves into the vacuum at the top of the polls, thanks in part to the Buckeyes just getting it done against Indiana. Don’t forget about Michigan State in the Big Ten, though, as The Only Colors notes that the Spartans beat the Wolverines with a bit of ironic Lloydball on Saturday. That’s the good news for State. The bad news: Chris Rucker’s been suspended.

- Rule of Tree sings the praises of Andrew Luck, and why not, with a QB who “completed 83 percent of his passes, led a game-winning drive in the final minute, threw for three touchdowns, no interceptions, and 285 yards, and made the hit of the night on USC’s Shareece Wright . . . .”

- Conquest Chronicles, on the other hand, is singing few praises and, in fact, says that “it is time for Monte Kiffin to hang it up.“

- In basketball news, The UConn Blog responds to the school’s response to the NCAA.

Basketball

- Canis Hoopus previews the Timberwolves season.

- The Phoenix Suns didn’t please their coach today with their effort, Bright Side of the Sun was there.
