Hats Off To Alfredsson: Ottawa Star Hits 1,000-Point Milestone On Hat Trick Goal Against Sabres

Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Daniel Alfredsson completed a hat trick and recorded his 1,000th career point with an empty-net goal in the final minute, sealing the Ottawa Senators' 4-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

The 37-year-old Swede, who has spent his entire 15-season career with Ottawa, recorded his eighth career hat trick.

Ryan Shannon also scored for the Senators, who have won their last five games in Buffalo. Brian Elliott made 34 saves, including 20 in the third period, to help Ottawa snap a two-game slide.

Tim Connolly scored both goals for Buffalo, which fell to 2-5-1 this season. Ryan Miller allowed three goals on 31 shots in the setback.
