Apologies for the sluggish rate of posting lately. But I'm not just goofin' off. In fact I've been a regular little Freddy Fast Fingers on the keyboard lately, writing bunches about the upcoming MLS playoffs. Don’t believe me?
MLS playoffs are keeping me busy
Here are the top five things you’ll learn from my latest piece on SI.com, a series-by-series look at each of the first-round matchups.
1. I still haven’t changed that terrible picture. They keep asking me to. I can’t imagine how I haven’t prioritized that.
2. What's more impressive than RSL's 11-0-4 home record? RSL's mighty plus-24 goal difference in those matches. They are absolutely clobbering people inside Rio Tinto.
3. I’m calling Colorado in the upset. I can’t really tell what else constitutes an upset due to cockamamie MLS pairing structure … but I believe calling Colorado over Columbus is picking the upset. Let’s just go with that, eh?
4. I managed to spell Guillermo Barros Schelotto right almost every time. And Jeff Larentowicz, too.
5. Did we really ever consider Robbie Rogers for the World Cup roster? I knew he had a bad season (some related to injuries), but I didn’t realize it was that bad until I did the research. Dude played in 20 games this year. Started 17 of them. And from that he has a goal and no assists? Oh, my. That man needs to drink some more orange juice or something.
