Memphis freshman and McDonald’s All-American Jalen Kendrick has been suspended indefinitely by the team while school officials investigate a verbal threat the player made to a teammate, according to CBSSports.com.
Memphis’ Jelan Kendrick Suspended Indefinitely For Threat Made To Teammate
Kendrick’s former summer coach Daren Darby said the team needed more time to determine what actually happened. Another source claimed Kendrick has been in multiple fights with teammates since joining the Tigers since arriving on campus. One of those caused Memphis coach Josh Pastner to prevent Kendrick from going along on a preseason trip to the Bahamas.
Darby also told CBS that other coaches have inquired about the possibility of transferring after the semester, but by all indications the freshman will remain at Memphis regardless of discipline.
