For the second time this year, Nebraska's Taylor Martinez has left a big game in Lincoln. But unlike his benching against Texas, this appears to be injury-related.
Taylor Martinez Leaves Game With Leg Injury
Martinez is on the sidelines after being hit hard late in the first half, and has been replaced by Zac Lee.
Martinez completed six of nine passes for 115 yards and a touchdown, but had only rushed for 16 yards on 12 carries. Lee, who has started on and off in his career at Nebraska, has been spotty in relief.
Nebraska’s got a bit of a cushion, fortunately, with a 31-14 lead. But losing an erstwhile Heisman candidate at quarterback would be a huge blow to the Cornhuskers’ offense, especially in a potential Big 12 Championship Game against potent Oklahoma.
