Fantasy Football Projections Week 5: Top Five Defenses

Here’s a fantasy football projection of the top five defenses in the NFL for Week 5.

Jacksonville: The Jaguars play the Bills, who have significant quarterback issues. Pick up their defense and you won't see Buffalo score many points and, if you're lucky, turn the ball over a few times. Their defense is 12th in rushing yards so they can ideally shut down the Bills rushing attack and put the game in Fitzpatrick's hands.

Dallas: The Cowboys are 8th against the run and the Titans offense is giving the ball to Chris Johnson. They can focus on shutting down Johnson and making Vince Young beat them.

New Orleans: This isn't a defense you would normally choose but there's some logic behind it. The Saints will likely get up big on the Cardinals forcing them to pass more and more. When your quarterbacks are Derek Anderson and Max Hall, throwing the ball a bunch is good for the defense.

Philadelphia: Coming off of a divisional loss, they're going to be looking to pound the 49ers. To this point, picking the 49ers opponent as your fantasy football defense isn't a bad way to go. I don't see how the 49ers can score often on the Eagles blitz defense.

Atlanta: The Falcons play the Browns and Jake Delhomme could be returning. Feel good about your defense is they're playing the Browns. Even though they put up 23 points last week, this is not a very good offense and the Falcons can take advantage of it.
