Bucks Vs. Celtics: Milwaukee Looks To Reverse Rough Start In Boston

(Sports Network) - The struggling Milwaukee Bucks kick off a quick two-game road trip Wednesday night in Beantown when they face the defending Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics.

The Bucks fell to 1-3 on the young season Tuesday when Wesley Matthews had a team-high 18 points and Brandon Roy chipped in 17 points and five steals, as the Portland Trail Blazers earned an easy 90-76 decision over Milwaukee at the Bradley Center.

Corey Maggette had a team-best 16 points and Carlos Delfino ended with 14 -- 11 in the first quarter -- for the Bucks. Andrew Bogut went for 12 points and nine rebounds in defeat.

“It wasn’t a good game for me personally or for the team,” Bogut said. “We just got outplayed. They’re a tough team, and we knew that coming in, but we didn’t match their intensity.”

The Bucks will finish their quick trek with a visit to Indiana on Friday.

The Celtics, meanwhile, improved to 3-1 last night after a 109-86 drubbing of the winless Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Kevin Garnett finished with 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting and Paul Pierce chipped in 21 points in that one.

Ray Allen had 16 points and Rajon Rondo finished with nine points and 17 assists to lead the Celtics to their first road victory of the season in two tries.

Jermaine O’Neal added 12 points in a starting role for Boston.

"(Head coach Doc Rivers) has wanted me to be a lot more aggressive, so I'm trying to do that," Garnett said. "My personality is not to demand a lot of shots, but I'm trying to be a lot more aggressive. I'm feeling good, my body's feeling good, those are good signs."

Veteran Celtics center Shaquille O’Neal, who missed Tuesday’s win with a bruised right knee, remains doubtful for tonight’s game.

These two teams split a four-game season series a year ago.
