Apparently, United States men's national team central defender Oguchi Onyewu thought it would be funny to get into a training pitch scuffle with star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. At least, according to Gazetto Dello Sport. It's not clear who started the scuffle...or maybe my Italian just sucks...but there was at least a reported case of throat-grabbing.
Oguchi Onyewu Is Obviously Trying To Get Sold
Gooch has been totally out of favor with Milan since his awful knee injury, and to be honest, he was always going to struggle to get into the team if he was completely healthy. Maybe he started a fight because of his pent up frustrations about not playing. Maybe he had no choice because Zlatan was being a total ass, staying in line with his reputation (Warning: Explicit language). Either way, starting fights with Zlatan Ibrahimovic is probably a really bad idea if you want to stay at your club.
So, what if Gooch doesn’t want to stay at the club? That would be the second most logical conclusion that someone could draw from this bust-up, with the most logical obviously being that the two are hot-headed morons. Still, I wouldn’t blame Gooch if he was just looking for a way out of the club. After volunteering to play a year for free because of his knee injury suffered while international duty, it would be a total 180 and a big blow to his reputation if Gooch handed in a written transfer request.
Wait...a bigger blow to his reputation than choking Zlatan? Hmm...tough call.
Hopefully, this fight video pops up somewhere soon. Only then will we really be able to judge what happened. Until then, we will let Zlatan be the judge. And he awards Gooch precisely zero Ibras.
