BCS Standings: Oregon Should Stay At Top After Annihilating Washington

Oregon continued to wield its offensive scythe against Pac-10 foes, leveling Washington in a 53-16 beatdown today that should keep the Ducks atop the BCS standings for another week.

↵There’s no reason to think the human voters will drop the Ducks after their latest carpet-bombing of a Pacific Coast city, especially since No. 2 Auburn spent its afternoon shredding outmanned Chattanooga (and allowing 24 points while doing so). Auburn was already sweeping the computers, so it’s almost impossible for the Tigers to make up ground there.

↵TCU might get some credit for blasting Utah, but they start out significantly behind Oregon overall and slightly behind in the computer polls. Even if the humans jump TCU past Boise and the computers give the Horned Frogs some credit for their win over the Utes, its hard to see the Frogs leaping past the Ducks overall.

↵So its another week on top for the Ducks. And another week of wielding the scythe as they head to California.
