↵If Pacquiao has proven anything in his stellar career, it is that he can and will prove doubters wrong. The Filipino champion hasn’t lost a fight since falling to Erik Morales by unanimous decision in 2005, and that’s a streak that requires both training and talent. Roach’s fears — he tells 60 Minutes he’s having anxiety attacks and sleepless nights — could be well-founded or completely unfounded, and Pacquiao would still be a heavy favorite to stop Margarito.
↵But this is Pacquiao’s first fight since taking office as a congressman in the Phillipines’ House of Representatives. Could that really be enough to throw off one of the greatest boxers of the modern era? We’ll find out next Saturday night, when Pacquiao meets Margarito at Cowboys Stadium.
