Jazz Vs. Heat: Miami Goes For Eighth Straight Victory Against Utah At Home

(Sports Network) - The chances of the Miami Heat staying unbeaten on their six-game homestand just got better with the Utah Jazz slated to pay a visit to AmericanAirlines Arena Tuesday night.

Miami has beaten Utah seven straight times in south Florida and is 11-2 in the last 13 matchups overall in this series.

The Heat improved to 5-2 on the young season by opening the residency with Saturday's 101-89 victory over visiting New Jersey. Dwyane Wade finished with 29 points and 10 rebounds, while LeBron James added 23 points for the Heat, who will also host the Celtics, Raptors, Suns and Bobcats on the homestand.

“When we play defense like we did tonight, it allows us to get out into the open court,” said James, who scored 14 of his points in the third quarter.

Chris Bosh ended with 21 points for Miami, which rebounded from Friday's 96-93 loss in New Orleans.

Utah will kick off a four-game road trip this evening and is 3-3 so far this season. It posted a 109-107 double-overtime victory versus the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, as Deron Williams deposited the game-winning basket with 6.8 seconds left in the second overtime and finished with 30 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Paul Millsap added 25 points and 13 rebounds, while Andrei Kirilenko and Al Jefferson each scored 18 points for the Jazz, who trailed by as many as 18 points in the game and bounced back from Friday's loss at Golden State. Utah outscored the Clippers, 12-10, in the second overtime.

“This would have been a tough one if we would have lost it, I might have cried,” said Williams, who is probable for Tuesday with back and hip issues. “I’m glad we won...seriously.”

The Jazz will also visit Orlando, Atlanta and Charlotte on the trek.
