Temple Vs. No. 9 Georgetown: Ramone Moore’s 30 Points Help Owls Upset Hoyas, 68-65

It took a heroic individual effort, but the Temple Owls upset the Georgetown Hoyas at home, 68-65. Junior guard Ramone Moore scored a career-high 30 points, on 12-18 shooting, to lead the Owls to a surprising win in front of a raucous crowd at Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

The Hoyas had a chance, but Hollis Thompson missed a contested lay-in with just over five seconds remaining. Temple secured the rebound, got to the free throw lane and iced the game, hitting both shots from the charity stripe.

Moore was joined in double-figures by Rahlir Jefferson and Scootie Reynold. Jefferson and Reynold each added 10 points to Moore's career-high 30. Lavoy Allen pulled-down a game-high six rebounds for the Owls.

Georgetown was led by Jason Clark's 15 points and five rebounds. Julian Vaughn and Austin Freeman each added 14 points in a losing effort. Vaughn added a game-high eight rebounds while Hoya senior Chris Wright dished-out a game-high five assists.

The loss was the Hoyas first of the season, dropping them to 8-1. Temple improved to 6-3 on the season, including a perfect 3-0 at home. Georgetown hosts Appalachian State while Temple hosts Akron on Saturday.
