The latest “outdoor hockey” experiment, it appears, has been a huge success. In what was termed as the “Big Chill at the Big House,” Michigan and Michigan State took to the ice in the Big House on Saturday. The Wolverines won in more ways than one: they blanked the Spartans, 5-0, and they set an NCAA record for attendance.

According to Katie Carrera at The Washington Post, Saturday’s contest set a single-game record for any hockey game, college or otherwise. To boot, it was the most well-attended sporting event in NCAA history. After the jump, take a look at the stadium at full capacity.
