UFC Superstar Randy Couture Appears To Retire Via Twitter

Randy Couture is one of the absolute greatest legends in the sport of mixed martial arts. His amazing upset wins over guys like Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz and Tim Sylvia are some of the shining moments in the sport's admittedly short history. In a somewhat sad move it appears that the legendary fighter may have just announced his plans to retire via his Twitter account:

Thanks to everybody who’s been tweeting about seeing my fights I must have missed the memo :) I think I’m at the end of it Yall . It’s time.

It was doubtful that Couture had another run at a title in him, and there is no shame in that. He won the heavyweight title three times and the light heavyweight title twice. Should he retire now he’ll retire on a three-fight win streak with wins over Brandon Vera, Mark Coleman and James Toney.

SB Nation will have much more on this situation as details continue to emerge. It’s too early to say that we know that he has retired for sure; Twitter is a funny beast in that the character limit makes for some really confusing messages at times. Stay tuned.
