Last week reports surfaced that the Washington Redskins were preparing to play backup QB Rex Grossman over starter QB Donovan McNabb in Week 14. Those reports came as a bit of a surprise even though McNabb had been benched earlier in the year in favor of Grossman in the fourth quarter of a game. Ultimately though it was McNabb who started the game last week and ended with, statistically, one of his better games of the year (though the numbers say he was better than he really was).
Rex Grossman Will Start Over Donovan McNabb For Redskins, According To Report
We're going through similar quarterback questions this week and now a report says it will be Grossman -- and not McNabb -- who starts on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
Just learned that Rex Grossman is starting over McNabb Sun in Dallas; I'm told Redskins Lockeroom is divided and guys are extremely upset
The question now becomes: Will McNabb be back next year? He received a contract extension this season that includes some big numbers but, according to reports, they can get out of it this year relatively cheap. If Mike Shanahan doesn’t believe McNabb is the best quarterback option on the team, it seems hard to figure out how McNabb would return next year. Then again, we’ve learned it’s impossible to predict Shanahan’s next move.
