Indianapolis Colts WR Austin Collie was knocked motionless for several moments late in the second quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While Collie and Jags LB Daryl Smith were going for a pass from Colts QB Peyton Manning, Smith's hip collided with the side of the receiver's head.
Austin Collie Injury: Colts WR Leaves Game In First Game Back From Concussion
Collie eventually found his feet with assistance from Colts medical staff, going straight to the locker room. Colts fans chanted his name as he laid on the ground after booing Smith’s hit, which appeared incidental.
No word yet on the diagnosis, but the blow definitely landed in the area of his head and neck. With his concussion history, it seems likely that another has occurred.
Collie has missed five games this season due to concussion-related issues, including the past three. He had been playing very well today, catching 87 yards and his first touchdown since early in the season.
