Hawaii Bowl, Hawaii Vs. Tulsa: Have A Very Offensive Christmas

The 2010 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl will be one of the college football postseason's most sparsely-watched games, an unfortunate consequence of holding the game on an island on Christmas Eve. This year that's especially unfortunate if you like points, since the game will feature two of the nation's most prolific offenses hurling touchdowns at one another.

The No. 24 Hawaii Warriors put together a strong 10-3 campaign that could've seen them finish ranked even higher, had they not face-planted in heroic fashion at Colorado in Week 3, 31-13. Their lowest scoring output came in their signature win, a 27-21 defeat of Nevada in mid-October. They scored over 40 points on ten different occasions in 2010, and starting quarterback Bryant Moniz led the nation in total offense.

The 9-3 Tulsa Golden Hurricane finish with a share of first place in Conference USA West, and haven't lost since the second week of October. They lost a shootout to East Carolina in their season opener, got mauled by Oklahoma State in Week 3, and were edged by eventual division reps Southern Methodist by a field goal, 21-18. The school known largely for incubating Gus Malzahn's offensive acumen has bounced back on the stat sheet since his departure, and ranks fifth nationally in total offense and tenth in scoring.

The 2010 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl kicks off at 8 p.m. EST on Friday, December 24. The game will be televised on ESPN.
