The New York Jets and Chicago Bears are playing this weekend in a game that has playoff implications for both sides. The Jets are trying to clinch a playoff spot while the Bears have their sights set on a first round bye.
Mark Sanchez Injury Could Keep Him Out Of Jets Vs. Bears Game
And the Jets may have to do it without their quarterback. Mark Sanchez has a slight cartilage tear in his shoulder suffered last weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers and his status for Sunday's game is up in the air. Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News reports Sanchez has some progress to make if he'll play on Sunday.
Jets Sanchez threw more in practice, but didn't have the velocity he needs to play in game. If it stays same, he won't play, Rex said
For his part, Sanchez said on Wednesday that he plans on playing.
“I’m in there,” Sanchez said Wednesday. “I’m playing, that’s all there is to it. I have to be on the field. That’s what I’m here for, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
On Friday the Jets will release their final injury report with Sanchez’s status. If I had to guess, it sounds like he’ll be questionable so the Jets can leave the door open for him to sit or to play.
