With the Minnesota Vikings season down the tube, it'd be understandable if star running back Adrian Peterson took his time returning from the thigh contusion that sidelined him for week 15's Monday Night Football match-up. Peterson, however, has other ideas, and is pretty confident he'll be able to play this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Adrian Peterson Hoping To Play Against Philadelphia Eagles
The Vikings hit the practice field today, going through the game-plan, and Peterson was there as a limited participant.
Peterson is hoping to start a new streak this Sunday night when the Vikings play their penultimate game of the season against the Eagles in Philadelphia. He did limited work in practice Thursday and expressed optimism beforehand that he would be back. Interim coach Leslie Frazier said Peterson was able to line up in the backfield “and did the things we needed to see.”
While the Vikings are playing for little more than pride, fantasy football owners everywhere are relying on Peterson as the playoffs wind down with the close of the season. As a last-minute inactive in week 15, it caught many off-guard. A Monday night game made it even worse, leaving little room to adjust.
This week, we’ve got a better idea of Peterson’s injuries and it’s encouraging, both for fantasy players and the Vikings.
