The Jacksonville Jaguars have a huge game against the Washington Redskins in hopes of keeping their NFL Playoff hopes alive, but they may not have their offensive force available to do it. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew has been listed as doubtful for the game after missing his third straight practice because of a knee injury.
Maurice Jones-Drew Injury Could Keep Him Out Of Sunday’s Game Against Redskins
Tania Ganguli of the Florida Union-Times has more details:
Missing Friday’s practice can be a bad sign for any player, even Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew.
Jones-Drew wasn’t on the practice field on Friday, making it the third consecutive day he wasn’t at practice this week with a knee injury. So far this season, no player who has missed Friday’s Jaguars practice has then been active on Sunday.
Jones-Drew has suffered a number of nagging injuries this year, but his knee injury has worsened since a Week 14 game against the Raiders. He did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday of last week, but did practice on Friday and played against the Indianapolis Colts.
If Jones-Drew does miss the game, it will be the first game he has missed since 2007, when the Jaguars rested him because they clinched a playoff spot.
UPDATE: Jones-Drew has been ruled out, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.
