In an exclusive with Chris Steuber of NFL Draft Scout/CBS Sports, Pittsburgh wide receiver Jon Baldwin announced that he’s entering the 2011 NFL Draft.
Jon Baldwin has strong words about entering NFL Draft
It’s no surprise that Baldwin is entering the draft, but the words he chose to use are. Following the resignation of head coach Dave Wannstedt, Baldwin told Steuber:
“Heck yeah I’m leaving. It can only get worse. They had me running a lot of deep routes [this year] and yards were hard to come by. I barely ran intermediate routes; it felt like they were purposely trying to disrupt my draft stock.”
If anyone watched Pitt games this season, it was clear new quarterback Tino Sunseri either didn't know how to get Baldwin the ball or couldn't physically.
The perception of Baldwin is that he had a down year with 52 receptions for 810 yards and five touchdowns. But NFL personnel might have a different perception of Baldwin after publicly bashing a teammate.
