Graduate assistants are best seen and not heard. Charting shots, grabbing waters, keeping track of fouls -- these are all activities that generally fall under the purvey of “graduate assistant”.
Stan Holt, USC Grad Assistant, Technically No Longer With Team
↵Turns out cursing referees out is not one of those things, as now former USC assistant Stan Holt has found out. With USC trailing Oregon 49-47 during their game on Saturday, Holt got whistled for a technical foul after reserving a few choice words for the zebras. USC never recovered, losing momentum, and the game.
↵USC coach Kevin O’Neill was less than pleased about this. Afterwards, he told reporters that Holt was “definitely no longer with us,” per the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
↵So let that be a lesson for prospective graduate assistants everywhere: stick to being a gopher or risk extinction.
