Big East Upsets Continue As Rutgers Dismantles No. 8 Georgetown

Piscataway, NJ (Sports Network) - Jonathan Mitchell had a career day, making 9-of-12 shots from the field for 24 points, as the Rutgers Scarlet Knights took down the seventh-ranked Georgetown Hoyas, 71-68, in a Big East clash at the Louis Brown Athletic Center.
Mitchell also grabbed seven rebounds for the Scarlet Knights (13-12, 3-9), who had lost eight straight to Georgetown. Dane Miller ended with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Hamady Ndiaye chipped in 11 points and seven boards, while Mike Rosario had 10 points for Rutgers, who beat a top-ten opponent for the first time since topping Notre Dame on March 1, 2003.
Greg Monroe finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four blocks for the Hoyas (18-6, 8-5 Big East), who lost to Rutgers for the first time since February 11, 2003. Austin Freeman chipped in 17 points and five boards while Hollis Thompson had 10 points for Georgetown, which had a two- game win streak come to an end.
