In what was a rough week for ranked teams (including for last week’s darling, Cornell), Richmond jumped into the top 25 for the first time in as many years this week.

↵While the Spiders built something of a reputation as a giant-killer in the late eighties and early nineties, recently they have catapulted to the top of the Atlantic-10 standings, including a win over Temple, thanks to a stingy defense, and just enough scoring. It’s enough reason for opponents to fear the Spiders the rest of the way.
↵As for the rest of the poll, Kansas maintained it’s three-week long grip on the top spot, while their in-state rival Kansas State jumped to its highest ranking in 50 years at No. 7, thanks to Syracuse, Georgetown and West Virginia tumbling following their recent losses.
