Tae-Bum Mo Wins Men’s Speed Skating 500m Gold
The Men’s Speed Skating 500m, an event delayed when the Olympia Ice Resurfacer, designed of course to smooth the ice, did the opposite, making it bumpy while gouging it, was eventually won by South Korea’s Mo Tae-Bum. It was his country’s first gold medal in the 500m, and the second overall of the 2010 Winter Games.
The silver and bronze medals were won by a pair of Japanese skaters, Keiichiro Nagashima and Joji Kato, respectively.
