Day 5 at the 2010 Winter Olympics means one thing: the start of Curling. Tuesday brings six hours of men's and women's Curling, with both of the American teams taking to the ice in the beginning of round-robin play. Medals will be awarded in Biathlon (Men's 12.5km Pursuit and Women's 10km Pursuit) Women's Snowboard Cross, Men's Super Combined, Women's Luge and Women's Speed Skating 500m. Additionally, both Team USA and Team Canada open play in Men's Hockey. But really, it's all about Curling. All times Eastern.
Winter Olympics Schedule, Day 5: Men’s Figure Skating, And Six Hours Of Curling
WHAT TO WATCH:
12 p.m.-3 p.m. – USA - Men's Curling - John Shuster and the American men take on Germany as round-robin Curling begins from Vancouver. Also in action: Great Britain vs Sweden, Norway vs Canada and Switzerland vs Denmark.
3 p.m.-6 p.m. – USA – Men's Hockey - Team USA opens its Olympic competition against Switzerland, led by Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller.
3 p.m.-5 p.m. – NBC – The U.S. looks for its first ever Olympic biathlon medals in the Men's 12.5km Pursuit and the Women's 10km Pursuit. Both medal events will be shown live.
5 p.m.-8 p.m. - CNBC - Women's Curling - Natalie Nicholson, Debbie McCormick and Team USA take on Japan as round-robin play continues. Also in action: Denmark vs Sweden, Germany vs Russian Federation and Canada vs Switzerland.
5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. - MSNBC - Women’s Hockey - Angela Ruggiero, Jenny Potter and Team USA lock horns with Russia as Olympic Hockey continues.
8 p.m.-12 a.m. - NBC - Primetime - Individual Figure Skating opens with the Men’s Short Program, aired live, where Russia’s Evgeni Plushenko will begin the defense of his gold medal from 2006. Americans to watch: Evan Lysacek, Jeremy Abbott, and of course, the fabulous Johnny Weir. NBC will also air the medal events of both Women’s Snowboard Cross Final and the Women’s Speed Skating 500m (tape delay).
8 p.m.-10 p.m. - CNBC - Men’s Hockey - Team Canada begins their quest for Hockey gold against Norway.
10 p.m.-12-30 a.m. - CNBC - Women’s Hockey - Early round play continues from Vancouver as Finland takes on China.
