Bloomington, IN (Sports Network) - Draymond Green led a balanced attack with 14 points, as 11th-ranked Michigan State earned a 72-58 win over Big Ten Conference foe Indiana at Assembly Hall.
Kalin Lucas finished with 13 points and four assists, while Raymar Morgan and Chris Allen each scored 10 apiece for Michigan State (21-6, 11-3 Big Ten), which snapped a three-game losing skid with a 65-54 win at Penn State on Saturday.
Verdell Jones ended with a game-high 20 points and Christian Watford chipped in with 14 points and six rebounds for Indiana (9-16, 3-10), which has lost seven straight games.
Tied at 19-all at the midway point of the opening half, Michigan State came to life and got a layup from Morgan that sparked a 10-2 run. Allen then finished it off with a jumper with 6:19 left in the half to put the Spartans up 29-21.
Austin Thornton and Delvon Roe each connected on jumpers in the last minute and a half to give MSU at 40-30 lead heading into the locker room.
Indiana was never able to establish any sustained offense in the second half. The Hoosiers did manage to get to within 11 following a Watford 1-of-2 from the free-throw line with 7:04 to play, but Lucas and Allen drained back-to- back three-pointers to make it a 66-49 game a short time later and Indiana never threatened the outcome the rest of the way.
