Julian Wright Makes History, Tweets A Trade Request

If it feels like we’re writing yet another story about how athletes should be careful what they say on Twitter, well, it’s because we are. Sorry about that.

↵Still, to the best of my knowledge, no athlete has ever Tweeted a trade request of sorts. Sure, there was Ravens QB Troy Smith’s agent tweeting a trade demand on his Twitter account earlier this month, but that’s different than what Hornets youngster Julian Wright did yesterday.

↵Wright, who lists basketball as his “job” and music as his “life” in his biography, hasn’t received much playing time this year and was frustrated about it. So he unleashed the following tweets.

↵↵Off to practice, thinking bout how I’m jealous of all these players that managed to get traded before Thursday...

↵Just saying, might need a change of scenery, of course I love New Orleans! Bought a house here.

↵Not bout blaming anyone. Just thinkin bout the C. Fryes, S. Browns, and the G. Wallaces, of the league who just needed a change of scenery.

↵↵Wright has since dubbed the incident as an example of “frustration” and a “slight break in that maturity,” but it’s hard to trust an athlete who lists something else as his “life” on his Twitter bio.
