Take a look at the score from Saturday’s Tennessee-South Carolina basketball game.
Goodness, This Is A High-Scoring Game
↵
↵If this is to be believed, 59 total points were scored within the first 2:06 of the game. I’m not going to heckle ESPN over this error, because that would be downright hypocritical of me. Instead, I started wondering whether something like this would be physically possible.
↵Suppose South Carolina’s points come from 10 threes, and Tennessee’s 29 points are made up of 9 threes and one 2-pointer. That’s 20 buckets in 2:06, or a bucket every 6.3 seconds. If both teams completely got out of each other’s way, and somehow shot 100% this could totally happen. That would be a cool experiment, actually: co-op basketball. Everyone wins! Make it happen, Naismith!
