The New AP Top 25: Where ACC Teams Are MIA

The top of the new AP Top 25 is pretty familiar, with Kansas and Kentucky the clear No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country.

But take a closer look near the bottom, and you’ll see one conference in particular that’s nowhere to be found. That conference is the ACC, who placed just one team — Duke at No. 5 — in the top 25. The last time only one ACC team was in the Top 25 was during the 1977/78 season, which was 32 years ago in case you didn’t want to count.

Keep this in mind when Duke makes their customary late run and gets a seed way higher than they deserve in the NCAA Tournament.
