Maybe Kobe Bryant should rest more often. Silver Screen and Roll, SB Nation’s Lakers blog, thinks so and it showed Tuesday night in Bryant’s brilliant return from a five-game absence.
Rest Does Kobe Good, As Proved By His 32-Point Performance
Bryant not only led the Lakers with 32 points but he propelled them to victory with a game-winning three-pointer with 4.3 seconds left. It was vintage Kobe:
Tonight, after two weeks in recovery, the Kobe Bryant of yore returned to the stage. He looked fast, agile and confident that his limbs would do what he asked of them. His shots were true and unforced, none more so than the long-distance cruise missile with four seconds left that leveled Memphis.
True, the Lakers went 4-1 in Bryant’s absence, but there’s no mistaken the impact he has on the team and on the league. Against the Grizzlies, Bryant scored the Lakers’ last nine points, helping the defending-champs overcome a nine-point fourth quarter deficit.
