The Detroit News bring us this not-so-shocking revelation about Jose Canseco’s current financial situation:
Jose Canseco Looking To MMA For Financial Relief?
↵↵Since 2008, the state of California and IRS claim Canseco owes more than $320,000 in delinquent taxes, according to public records. The most recent tax lien was filed last month against Canseco, 45, who was paid more than $45 million during a 16-year major league career.
↵What’s owed:
↵The IRS filed a $121,209 lien against Canseco on Jan. 7 with the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds.
↵The state of California filed a $101,037 lien on June 2, 2009, in Ventura County Court.
↵The state of California filed a $29,739 lien on Dec. 12, 2008, in Los Angeles.
↵The state of California filed a $68,210 lien on July 7, 2008, in Los Angeles.
↵↵MMA Mania has more details on Canseco’s recent pattern of behavior and why it’s fairly obvious that his desire to fight Herschel Walker is primarily financially driven.
↵As MMA fans, lets just hope that Strikeforce is aware of this news and chooses not to enter the Jose Canseco business.
