Hardball question of the day: Aaron Boone -- actively preparing for life after baseball or the loneliest man on Earth?
Aaron Boone’s Life Has Been Building To This Day: Joins ESPN As Newest Analyst
↵↵In announcing he’s retiring from MLB and joining ESPN as a BaseballTonight analyst, Aaron Boone revealed what went on behind closed doors in his 12-year MLB career: “Calling games by myself in hotel rooms — I’m that guy. … This has been in me my entire life, just as much as I wanted to be a player.”
↵↵One only can imagine how many times Boone re-called this famous home run in his hotel room. Probably 100 times too many.
↵Hopefully for ESPN, Boone’s career .263 batting average doesn’t translate into his studio work. But one famous, put-it-in-the-record-books kind of moment broadcasting for ESPN? I think they’ll take it.
