With four teams left in the men’s hockey tournament, Vegas is starting to get mildly interested in the subject. It’s clear that the odds are not exactly accurate in a one-game series, case in point being Canada’s demolition of Russia on Wednesday. Nobody saw that one coming.

↵But nevertheless, odds have been thrown around for the two semifinal games taking place on Friday in Vancouver, as well as odds on the potential gold and bronze medal games.

↵The United States has an 86 percent chance at taking home a medal before the weekend is over, while Canada has a whopping 96 percent chance despite their early tournament struggles. The question is, does the 4 percent chance of sadness take into account the fact that it’s Canada and that if they don’t medal, the entire country will descend into it’s own mini-Great Depression?
