Neil Young Sings As Flame Is Extinguished, Then Things Got Weird

The 2010 Winter Olympics came to an official close Sunday night when the Olympic Flame was extinguished as Canadian Neil Young sang, “Long May You Run.”

It was a simple and appropriate end to the games.

Then, things got weird.

Like, William Shatner and Catherine O’Hara telling jokes, shortly followed by Michael Buble in disguise, dancing Mounties, a kid dressed as a hockey puck, a giant version of tabletop hockey and enormous inflatable beavers kind of weird. Maybe I just don’t understand Canadian humor?

Still to come later tonight: Nickelback.

Okay, now that joke I definitely get.
