West Lafayette, IN (Sports Network) - Raymar Morgan had 16 points and 11 rebounds as 14th-ranked Michigan State downed a short-handed No. 3 Purdue team, 53-44, at Mackey Arena.

Draymond Green scored 12 points and also pulled down 11 boards for the Spartans (22-7, 12-4 Big Ten), who have won three of four.

E’Twaun Moore posted 12 points with four assists for the Boilermakers (24-4, 12-4), who were playing without forward Robbie Hummel, lost for the season with a torn ACL he suffered Wednesday.

Chris Kramer and JaJuan Johnson each added 11 points in the setback, which snapped Purdue’s 10-game win streak.

Green hit a jumper with 1:20 left which gave Michigan State a 50-44 advantage, and after Moore missed his open three, Morgan responded with a jumper plus a free throw for a nine-point MSU edge.

A Keaton Grant turnover was matched in quick succession by a Spartans miscue in the final seconds, then a missed trey from Lewis Jackson closed out the contest.

An 8-2 run gave MSU a lead 22-16 with 5:34 left in the first half after a Green jumper, but Kramer’s bucket with 2 1/2 minutes to go capped a 12-2 Purdue surge for a 28-24 contest. Morgan’s jumper with 1:13 left brought the Spartans within two at the break.

Durrell Summers knocked down a three and the Spartans led 35-30 four minutes into the second half, then another trey from Summers upped the visitors’ margin to 42-34.

Moore’s basket with 3:24 to go got Purdue within 48-44, but it wasn’t enough.

Michigan State owned a staggering 46-20 advantage on the glass...Purdue was held to just 30 percent shooting for the game, including a 27.3 percent mark in the second half...The Spartans finish the season with two games this week, on Thursday against Penn State then next Sunday hosting Michigan...The Boilermakers wrap things up this week against Indiana on Wednesday and next Saturday at Penn State.
