Spurs Hold Off Struggling Kings 115-113

This was just phenomenal. Kind of like that iconic Iverson-Jordan play, except completely different, since Tim Duncan can’t realistically be expected to compete with someone like Tyreke Evans. But still. Duncan looked foolish on that play. Like he was playing on ice or something. The Spurs won the battle last night, but plays like that—not to mention just about everything he’s done this season—suggest that in the end, Tyreke Evans is going to win a lot of wars for the Sacramento Kings. He’s special.

With last night’s loss, the Kings have now dropped 18 of their last 21 games, and fans and co-owners alike are distressed by it all.

But as SB Nation’s Sactown Royalty reminds us, the Kings were not built to win this season. They’re a young team, and young teams go through some major growing pains.
